Step 1: Create an Account

I started by going to the Tome AI homepage and selecting “Try Tome.”

Step 2: Create a Draft with AI

After creating an account and giving Tome some basic information about me, Tome AI asked me how I wanted to get started. There were four options:

1. Use AI to create the first draft.
2. Browse templates.
3. Import a Google Doc.
4. Create a blank Tome.

I went with “Use AI to create the first draft.”

Step 3: Generate & Edit the Outline

Tome AI asked what my presentation would be about. In case I was stuck, it gave me text prompt suggestions for different uses like portfolios, design reviews, and research decks.

I selected the first suggested text prompt and hit “Generate outline.”

Immediately, Tome AI generated an outline that acted like a table of contents that I could rearrange and edit exactly how I wanted. Once I was happy with my outline, I went to “Choose layouts.”

Step 4: Choose Your Layout

Selecting “Choose layouts” allowed me to cycle through each of my presentation slides and select the layout. The toolkit on the right let me add text, media, shapes, tables, and charts.

Once I was happy with my presentation layout, I selected “Generate all pages.”

Step 5: Generate & Edit Your Presentation!

Immediately, Tome AI began generating my presentation, which only took seconds! The presentation was pretty basic, with only a few slides generated by default, but it was an excellent starting point with a modern look.

My favorite part of editing my presentation with Tome was hitting “Ctrl + K” to open the command bar and using AI to edit my presentation. I could create a page, generate an image, add tiles from Miro, Figma, Giphy, etc., and more! This made editing my presentation with Tome AI fun and engaging.

Another thing I loved about editing my presentation with Tome was hovering over any element, whether an image or text block and clicking and dragging it where I wanted it to go without affecting the layout. I could also click and drag on the images’ edges to adjust the size. It’s incredible how easy and fun it was to edit using Tome AI!

Tome AI made sharing and downloading extremely easy.

I selected “Share” in my presentation on the top right and hit “Copy Link.” With the link copied to my clipboard, I could paste it on social media or anywhere else I wanted to give people access.

To download my presentation as a PDF, I went to the menu (“…”) and selected “Export to PDF.”
